The Paradigm Shift
As a FNG I was placing way too much importance on the wrong shit.
Previously I was obsessed with entry, stoploss placement, TP levels etc. Granted, while these things are important once I began to shift my attention away from these basics and onto comprehending market conditions, I was able to “get” why particular systems that seemed profitable eventually ended up in the negative.
What matters more is how you define your current market environment and the strategy you implement during that time-window.
Regardless of your execution variables, Implementing a continuation strategy during a strong trending environment is likely to serve you well.
Likewise, Implementing a mean-reversion strategy during a bracketed environment will also probably do well regardless of execution variables.
Defining our Market Environment is a fundamental part of how we trade here at SBG. It represents the ‘E’ the first and foremost stage within our E.S.S.O system. It provides structure to our trade process and allows us to participate in the market with respect for the conditions established within our current regime.
In my E-book Grey Files - Bonus ED, I talk about this a little more - The point your discretionary advantage is knowing when to feed and when to wait. It will probably have a greater impact on your development than stressing about the little things.
